What do you mean by on-location photography?
I am very customer-oriented and your convenience is what I want to achieve. By on-location, I mean outdoors, I go to you or your preferred location to shoot your photographs like parks. I can help you scout around your community for a best spot to take your outdoor photos.
What is the mobile studio service?
Mobile-studio is like studio photography in your home where I set-up the background, lights and props. May it be your home because you're pregnant and don't feel like going out, or you just had your baby and it's better to go with your baby's schedule. It can also be your office or any indoor location. I have a mobile studio that I set up at the location of your choice within Greater Vancouver. A clearance of at least 7' x 10' space if needed for this set-up to give enough room for the photographic equipment i.e. lights and background (if preferred).
What backgrounds do you have?
I currently have a white, black, grey and blue-dyed (cloudy) backgrounds.
For newborn and children, I have several different props and a few accessories that your child may use.
What lighting do you use?
I LOVE natural lighting, I think it's the best way to illuminate anyone and anything. But because we are in Vancouver, i.e. rainy, with the mobile studio, I use either a softbox or a beauty light. It all depends on what you want, the effect that will work for the situation, and how you want it to look.
How long will my photo session take?
It depends on the service, usually 1 - 2 hours for the session including costume changes, regroupings of people, setting-up the mobile studio and background changing. The mobile studio takes about 15 to 20 minutes to set up depending on how large the group is. On-location or outdoor photoshoots are done within 1 hour.
Newborn and children sessions take a little longer as this will depend on the child's disposition. For newborn sessions, it is advisable to photograph them when they're about 7 days old to about 2 months. A sleepy or sleeping baby will help a lot with posing and more creative shots. For toddlers ages 6 months to 3 years of age, a well-fed and rested child will be much more cooperative. Newborns and chidlren have their own biological schedule and routine, it is important for them to 'voluntarily' have their photos taken. Going with the flow, attending to the child's needs, and a stress-free parent will make an enjoyable photo session and most importantly, the child happy!
Film or digital?
I shoot digital.
I know how to use Photoshop. Can I just get the images as is right after?
I take photos in RAW format which will unable you to convert and image process without compromising quality. As an artist, I take pride in my work and my process, from start to finish. All the images I produce contain a metadata that protect me from Copyright Infringement.
What about Wardrobe / Make-up / Hair?
Your wardrobe, make-up and hair are important aspects of your portrait.
For your wardrobe, please wear solid colours as it looks better and less distracting in photographs. Best advice, come as how you want to be seen and known. For couples, prints and stripes aren't really a great combination - unless, it is intentional. :) Families can coordinate their outfits. This doesn't mean you will all wear the same clothing, colour and stuff. Same colour tops and same type of bottoms, or hints of the same colour palette can also be used. Please feel free to contact me if you have questions regarding this. I can for sure help you pick your clothing as well during the session. :)
Make-up and hair are as importrant to consider in your portraits. Please apply some make-up and fix your hair for the session. Most of the time, the expressions are great but an uncombed hair in particular drags the image down - especially for children.
I suddenly have an acne breakout! What will I do? Can you Photoshop my face?
Image processing includes touch-ups i.e. removal of skin blemishes and unwanted marks. Image correction also includes other distracting elements that were unavoidable at the session, background touchups, etc.
So the session is over, what happens now? When can I receive the photos?
After the session you will receive an e-mail from me within 3 - 5 business days to view your Online Gallery and order your photos.
Turnover time is between 7 - 10 business days depending on the service selected. The Photography Package will be sent out within the given timeframe via regular mail i.e. Canada Post. The Photographer is responsible for informing the Client once the shipment has been done.

I'm a parent of twins. Do I get special rates?
As a parent of twins (and multiples), I'm offering 10% off the photo session rate per child. So if you have twins, 20% off will be taken from the total price plus tax. If you have triplets, 30% off will be discounted from the photo session plus tax.
Why are there Late Order Fees?
As I would like to work on your photos as quickly as possible, every session booked has its own alloted time for retouching and processing. Sending in your orders on time means that you will receive your orders within the given timeframe. If you send in your orders beyond that timeframe, it will be backlogged with the other sessions booked after yours. The priority is given to those who have sent in their orders in the sequence it has been received.
I have children and the available booking time is not in-tune with my child's routine, is it possible to book the appointment earlier?
As parent of young children myself, I understand every parents' concerns. As a photographer, it is important for me as well that the child is happy during the photoshoot - that is a biggest factor to be able to get the best smiles out of them. Please leave me a "NOTE" at the time of booking and I'll try my best to accomodate your requests.
I'd like to have my photos done outdoors, what if it rains?
Your safety and comfortability are my priorities. As long as it is dry, I can do your photos. If you like the rain, I can do that as well - it can look romantic on Engagement Photoshoots. If you don't like the rain, we can reschedule it. Please feel free to contact me directly with your concerns via e-mail or call.
